Evolution of the HmT Group
HmT Mechatronics (CC) was established
HmT Mechatronics is an engineering house and was the first startup in the group. It was started by the current Managing Director, Mr. Handry Massyn Theron, from his then rented apartment in Cape Town, Western Cape. At that time, he was 27 years old with only 4 years of relevant industry experience.
HmT Trust was established
One year later and the engineering company is doing well. Property was acquired and the HmT Trust was established to hold this and any future properties
HmT Mechtronics Western Cape Offices
With more large projects on the horizon for HmT Mechatronics, it was forced to gain a more professional look and feel. So it was no longer enough to work from home and the first official offices were opened in Brackenfell, Northern Suburb of Cape Town. This allowed the company to start building its own enclosures and now offering full turn key control systems.
HmT Investments (Pty) was established
With good growth in the group, a need arose for a central administration and accounting department. HmT Investments was established to perform this function and many others. Today HmT Investments not only performs accounting tasks, but also private investments local and abroad.
HmT Mechatronics Gauteng expansion
With more inquiries into our services from the northern parts of the country, HmT Mechatronics expanded into the largest city of South Africa, Johannesburg – Midrand. Today it still operates as a sales and support office.
HmT Electrical was established
With great opportunities sparking in the renewable energy sector, HmT Group has decided to further expand the existing knowledge of HmT Mechatronics. This is currently being done through HmT Electrical, which now also offers services in the electrical industry.
HmT Relocated to bigger premises
Due to our company's continued growth, HmT relocated to a bigger premises. This will enable the company to obtain larger stock holding – ensuring improved value-added service.
HmT Distribution was formed
After careful consideration it was decided to merge HmT Electrical and HmT Mechatronics into one large distribution company.
